The Private Pilot's License
With a Private License, you can:
- Carry passengers, but not for hire
- Fly day or night
- Fly anywhere in the free world
- Fly when visibility is 3 miles or more
- Fly any aircraft for which you're rated
Basic FAA requirements:
- Be 17 years or older
- Read/write/speak the English language
- Pass an FAA medical exam
- Log a minimum of 40 hours flying time
- Pass a written examination
- Pass a flight examination

Typical learn to fly program at Wester Air:
- 20 to 40 hours of flight with instructor
- 10 to 20 hours of solo practice
- Gound school or home study on your own time
- Fly two lessons per week, be done in 6 months
- Flexible scheduling - 7 days a week

- Cessna 150 rental at $95 per hour (wet)
- Instructor at $38 per hour
